Company Overview
A global pharmaceutical manufacturing company with a vast IT infrastructure spread across 15 data centers on multiple continents was focused on identifying the on-premises IT assets and applications to evaluate their potential migration to AWS.
Challenges
The company faced several challenges in managing its IT infrastructure and planning a migration to the cloud. Their environment contained 300 virtual machines and 1000 applications in 15 data centers across 3 continents.
The customer had limited comprehensive visibility into their IT estate, the business applications connectivity and service paths across the environment, and was subject to strict industry regulations, complicating cloud migration efforts. They needed to reduce Microsoft SQL server licensing costs and get insights into their workloads, potential cloud costs and OS and application end-of-life risks.
CloudSphere Solution
To address these challenges CloudSphere ran an AWS Optimized Licensing Assessment and deploying CloudSphere across all data centers to run a discovery and provide the customer with the insights and data they needed to evaluate the migration cost and efforts.
